Audience with Pope Francis

Public audience with Pope Francis in St. Peter's Square, the traditional one every Wednesday.

The Pope walks through Rome's most famous square to greet the people of Rome. pilgrims from an open vehicle. Then, during the meeting there are readings and songs, and the Holy Father imparts his blessing to the attendees at the end of the meeting.

Visit to St. Peter's Basilica

After the audience with Pope Francis, we will learn the secrets of St. Peter's Square. Afterwards, we will visit St. Peter's Lorenzo in PiscibusThe church is very close by, to experience the Holy Mass.

We will have lunch in a restaurant near the square; then, in the afternoon, we will visit the crypt with the tombs of the Popes and visit St. Peter's Basilica in detail. We will decipher the history and the different architects who participated in its construction until we reach Michelangelo's dome, which we will ascend by elevator.

Catacombs of St. Callixtus and major basilicas

An intense day that begins with a visit to the catacombs of St. Callixtus and with the celebration of the Holy Mass in them. We will continue with a guided tour of the major basilicas of the city of Rome: St. Paul Outside the Walls and St. Mary Major. Later we will see in the same area the Baptistery, the Scala Santa and Santa Croce in Gerusalemme.

Panteon and Sopra Minerva

We will know the Pantheon. Marcus Agrippa, Luciī fīlius, consul tertium, fēcit.Marcus Agrippa, son of Lucius, consul for the third time, (did) it'. This is the inscription that can be read on the frieze of the entrance portico. It attributes the construction of the building to Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa, friend, general and son-in-law of Emperor Augustus.

Thus, we will understand one of the most complex and emblematic buildings of ancient Rome and the basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva.

 

Visit to Villa Tevere

Opus Dei Headquarters

Where Santa María de la Paz is located: the Marian devotion to which the church is dedicated. prelatic church of Opus Dei in Rome. In its main altar rest the sacred remains of St. Josemaría Escrivá, its founder. In a small crypt underneath the church, the Blessed Álvaro del Portillo Javier Echevarría, first and second successors of St. Josemaría. In addition to visiting this emblematic place, you will have a unique opportunity to participate in an intimate meeting with Bishop Fernando Ocáriz, the current prelate of Opus Dei and Grand Chancellor of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.

The formation of priests and the CARF Foundation

Hundreds of priests y seminarists from all over the world corners of the worldtheir priestly formation in Rome. We will have the opportunity to meet them and their stories in three activities:

Pontifical University of the Holy Cross:

On Friday we will attend two conferences and we will share lunch with students and teachers.

Sedes Sapientiae Seminar:

On Saturday we will visit the nearly 100 seminarists of this center, sharing with them the Holy Mass, lunch and social gatherings.

Tiberino Priestly Residence

On Sunday morning, before the Angelus in St. Peter's Square, we will visit this residence and experience the Holy Mass concelebrated by priests residents.

15:45 h. Departure of Iberia flight to Rome Fiumicino.

Departure on foot to the square to attend the public audience with Pope Francis.

Detailed visit of the square. Holy Mass in San Lorenzo in Pisicibus.

Afternoon. View of St. Peter's Basilica, dome and crypt of the Popes.

Return to the hotel. Dinner at leisure.

Tomorrow. Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the catacombs of St. Callixtus. Mass in the catacombs.

Visit to the major basilicas of St. John Lateran and St. Mary Major.

Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, Baptistery and Scala Santa.

Lunch in the area.

Afternoon. Continuation on foot and visit of the interior of the Pantheon and the Basilica Santa Maria Sopra Minerva.

Return to the hotel. Dinner at leisure.

8:15 h. Pick up by bus and transfer to Villa Tevere, headquarters of Opus Dei.

9:30 h. Holy Mass in the Prelatic Church of St. Mary of Peace.

11:00 h. Tertulia with Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz, Prelate of Opus Dei and Chancellor of the University.

12:00 h. Transfer to the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.

12.45 h. First session with Javier Martínez Brocal. Traveling with Pope Francis: keys to his pontificate.

13:45 h. Lunch at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in the company of students and professors.

15:30 h. Visit of the basilica and the university. View of Rome from the terrace and family photo.

16.15 h. Second session with Gema Bellido. Footprintsa project to listen to young people.

17:00 h. Closing of the day.

17:15 h. Afternoon and dinner at leisure.

09:00 h. Breakfast at the hotel.

10:30 h. Transfer by bus to the International Ecclesiastical College Sedes Sapientiae.

11:30 h. Holy Mass.

12:30 h. Tour of the school with the seminarians and family photo.

13:00 h. Lunch in the company of formators and seminarians from more than 20 countries.

14:00 h. Gathering with the rector and testimonies of seminarians.

17:00 h. Free walk in Trastevere, on the west bank of the Tiber and famous for its colorful and medieval houses.

20:00 h. Farewell dinner meeting at a charming restaurant.

08:00 h. Breakfast and check out.

08:30 h. Transfer by bus with luggage.

09:00 h. Holy Mass at the Tiberino Priestly College, visit to the facilities and social gathering.

11:00 h. Transfer by bus to St. Peter's Square to attend the Angelus prayer with Pope Francis.

13:00 h. Meet at the meeting point for the bus transfer to the airport.

14:00 h. Check-in and boarding, bound for Madrid.

Iberia return flight, departure at 4:15 pm and arrival at 6:55 pm.
