Sea of Galilee

The Sea of Galilee, also called the Sea or Lake Tiberias, Lake Gennesaret and Lake Kineret, is the only natural freshwater lake in Israel.

The pilgrimage visits the place where Jesus chose Simon-Peter, Andrew, John and James, and also where he walked on its waters.

The Basilica of the Nativity is one of the oldest churches in Christendom. It is a pilgrimage site consisting of several buildings.

It was built over the portal of Bethlehem, the grotto of the Nativity, where tradition points to the birth of the Child Jesus.

Through the intricate alleys of the old city, the church of the Holy Sepulchre is accessed.

In this church, the center of Christianity, there are three essential places: the Stone of Unction, Golgotha or Calvary - the exact place of the Crucifixion of the Lord - and the Holy Sepulcher.

Cenacle, Jerusalem

The Cenacle is the place in Jerusalem where Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with the apostles before dying on the Cross.

It is also the place where the apostles gathered after the Resurrection of Jesus and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Another highlight of the pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

Mount of Beatitudes

The Mount of the Beatitudes is the place where Jesus pronounced the Sermon on the Mounta guide to living the Gospel.

The church that crowns it, surrounded by gardens, invites the pilgrimage to meditate on the words of Jesus and to deepen the call to humility, justice and mercy.

Mount Tabor, is the site of the Transfiguration of Jesuswhere he revealed his divine glory.

From its summit, in addition to enjoying panoramic views of the Galilee, the pilgrimage can visit the Basilica of the TransfigurationThe sanctuary is an invitation to prayer and reflection on the divinity of Christ.

Itinerary of the pilgrimage

Tomorrow. Arrival at the airport at the agreed time. Check-in formalities. Holy Mass at Barajas. Boarding of scheduled flight to the Holy Land. Arrival in Tel Aviv, assistance and transfer by bus to Nazareth.

Afternoon.  Check-indinner and overnight at the hotel in Nazareth.

Tomorrow. Breakfast at the hotel and start of the pilgrimage with departure to Tabgha and the Chapel of the Primate of Peter, where Holy Mass will be celebrated. Continuation to Capernaum, where the remains of the ancient synagogue and the house of St. Peter will be visited. Departure to the Sea of Galilee and lunch at a lakeside restaurant.

Afternoon. At 4 p.m., boat trip on the Sea of Galilee and visit to the Mount of Beatitudes. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Tomorrow. Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Mount Tabor to visit the Basilica of the Transfiguration. Panoramic views of the Esdrelon Valley in Lower Galilee. Then departure to Cana of Galilee, to renew the promises of marriage. Lunch.

Afternoon. Return to Nazareth and visit to the Fountain of the Virgin, Basilica and Grotto of the Annunciation, where Holy Mass will be celebrated. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Tomorrow. Breakfast. Holy Mass in Nazareth Basilica of the Annunciation. Departure through the Jordan Valley. Renewal of the baptismal promises in the Jordan River. Excavations at Qumram. Then departure to the Dead Sea. Lunch.

Afternoon. Transfer to Saxum. Visit the facilities of the activity center and the multimedia resource center. Arrival at the hotel in Jerusalem. check-in. Dinner and lodging.

Tomorrow. Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Bethlehem and visit the shepherds' camp in the Christian village of Beth Sahur. Visit to the Basilica of the Nativity. Holy Mass in the chapel of St. Joseph at 11 am and then procession with the Franciscans to the chapel of the Nativity. Lunch.

Afternoon.  Visit to the Basilica of the Agony, the Garden of Olives and the Mount of Olives. Views of the Holy City from the top of the mountain. Walk to the Franciscan chapel of Dominus Flevit and Gethsemani at the Kidron Torrent. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Tomorrow. Early in the morning you can optionally attend the Way of the Cross following the steps of Jesus along the Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulcher where the Holy Mass will be celebrated (6.30 a.m.). Return to the hotel for breakfast and meet the rest of the group. Visit to the Basilica of the Resurrection, Calvary and the Holy Sepulcher. Lunch.

Afternoon. Visit of the old city of Jerusalem: Church of St. Anne and Bethesda pool (Probation). Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Tomorrow. Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Mount Zion to visit the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, the Cenacle - where the Holy Mass will be celebrated - and the Abbey of the Dormition of the Virgin. Walk through the Cardo Maximus and the Jewish Quarter to the Wailing Wall.
Lunch.

Afternoon. Free time at leisure. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Tomorrow. Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Ein Karem to visit the Shrine of the Visitation of Mary to her cousin St. Elizabeth - where Holy Mass will be celebrated - and the Church of St. John the Baptist. Coffee break at Casa Nova. Transfer to Tel Aviv airport for flight to Madrid. Free lunch. End of the pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

Afternoon. Departure of flight to Madrid. Arrival in Madrid. End of meeting and services.
