I thought my vocation would not be realized, because I had no one to support me.

I was born into a Catholic family of 8 children. I am the last child and the only one in the family with the opportunity to study. When I was ten years old, my mother used to tell me about her life. She wanted to be a nun, but the culture did not allow it. Her story inspired me and encouraged the vocation I had before I became a priest.

When I turned thirteen, I entered the minor seminary but before I finished my formation, my mother passed away. I thought my vocation would not be fulfilled because I had no one to support me financially. But I told the rector about the situation and when my report reached the bishop, he chose to support me. So, he is helping me to pursue the vocation through different ways like asking for your support.

However, I cannot forget the help I receive from the CARF Foundation, it is truly imaginable, how the members of the Foundation offer themselves to help us without expecting any return. Considering the great work they do, it is worth thanking them and praying for them. This has also increased my feeling of calling when I reflect on how other people try to accompany me in different ways with the intention of not lacking something that can cause me to leave the calling I feel as a priest.

Finally, the atmosphere of the Bidasoa International Seminary where I live, all the formators and fellow seminarians is also very important for me. Living in an international environment with a way of life for all makes me also feel the universality of the Church that we are all one in Christ.

May God bless you always in your work and the works you do to help priestly vocations."
