Many are the penitents who came to confession with St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, among them the beloved St. John Paul II. After that meeting, their friendship continued despite the distance. The pope wrote at least three letters to Padre Pio asking for his help and prayers for the sick. In this way, John Paul II witnessed two miracles obtained through the intercession of the Capuchin friar.
