Audience with Francis at St. Peter's Square with the CARF Foundation

Audience with Pope Francis

Audience with Pope Francis in St. Peter's Square, the traditional one every Wednesday. The pope walks through the square to greet the pilgrims from an uncovered vehicle.

During the meeting, readings and songs in various languages are read and sung, and the Holy Father gives his blessing to the participants at the end of the meeting.

Visit to the Vatican City in Rome.

Scavi vatican and crypts

After the audience with Pope Francis, we will learn the secrets of St. Peter's Square. Afterwards, we will visit St. Peter's Lorenzo in Piscibus for the Holy Mass.

We will have lunch in a restaurant near the square; in the afternoon we will visit the Vatican Scavi, the crypt with the tombs of the Popes and St. Peter's Basilica.

Visit to the gardens of Villa Borghese with the CARF Foundation

Visit to Villa Borghese

Villa Borghese is one of the most beautiful parks in Rome, an oasis of peace in the heart of the city. This extensive garden is home to fountains, sculptures to stroll along its paths and enjoy nature and culture.

We will visit the Borghese Gallery with works by Caravaggio, Bernini and Raphael. 

Visit to the headquarters of Opus Dei, Villa Tévere.

Visit to Villa Tevere

Headquarters of Opus Dei where the prelatic church of Santa Maria de la Paz is located. In its main altar rest the sacred remains of St. Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer. And under the church, the Blessed Álvaro del Portillo Javier Echevarría, first and second successors of St. Josemaría.

We will participate in an intimate meeting with Bishop Fernando Ocáriz, the current prelate and grand chancellor of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.

Sede Sapientiae Seminary in Rome

Sedes Sapientiae Seminar

The international seminar Sede Sapientiae of Rome forms seminarians to become priests with a solid spiritual, academic, human and pastoral preparation. Located in the heart of Rome, it offers an environment of study and prayer, in close communion with the Pope and the universal Church.

In this pilgrimage you will have the opportunity to spend a day with students from 26 countries.

This year we will share, on Sunday before praying the Angelus with the Pope, the celebration of the Holy Mass and a time of gathering with the resident priests of Altomonte who will give us their testimony.

We will visit the Villa Medici; we can marvel at the magnificence of the Domus Aurea palace or the Colosseum.

13:15 h. Arrival at Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suarez airport for check-in and boarding formalities to Rome (Other departures, BCN, customize and match).

15:45 h. Departure of the Iberia flight to Rome Fiumicino.

18:20 h. Arrival in Rome and transfer by bus to the hotel.

Free time and dinner.

07;00 h. Breakfast at the hotel.

07;30 h. Departure on foot to the square to attend the public audience with Pope Francis.

09:00 h. Pope Francis audience.

10:30 h. Detailed one-hour tour and explanation of St. Peter's Square with a guide.

12:00 h. Holy Mass in San Lorenzo in Pisicibus.

13:30 h. Lunch in the area. Tratoria Pizzeria Da Romolo alla Mole Adriana

16:00 h. View Scavi Vatican, crypt of the Popes and end at St. Peter's Basilica.

18:00 h. Walking back to the hotel and free dinner.

9:30 h. Departure by bus to Villa Borghese.

10:00 h. Stop for Holy Mass at the Basilica of St. Eugene.

11:30 h. Transfer by bus and guided tour of Villa Borghese and the Borghese Museum.

14:00 h. Lunch in the area. Le Jardin at the Hotel de Russie.

15:30 h. Transfer on foot and visit Villa Medici. 

16:30 h. Transfer by bus to the Domus Aurea palace or Colosseum.

18:30 h. Return by bus to the hotel and free dinner.

8:30 h. Transfer by bus to Villa Tevere, headquarters of Opus Dei.

Tertulia with Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz, Prelate of Opus Dei and Chancellor of the University.

11:30 h. Transfer by bus to the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.

12:00 h. Visit to the University, view of Rome from the terrace and family photo.

13:00 h. Lunch at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in the company of students and professors.

15:30 h. Beginning of the activities of the International Meeting.

  • Presentation of the rector of the PUSC.
  • First presentation. to be determined.
  • Coffee Break.
  • Second presentation.
  • Closing remarks by the general director of the CARF Foundation.

18:00 h. Walk back to the hotel and dinner on your own.

09:00 h. Breakfast at the hotel.

10:00 h. Transfer by bus to the International Ecclesiastical College Sedes Sapientiae. And visit to Santa Cecilia.

11:30 h. Holy Mass at Sedes Sapientiae.

12:30 h. Tour of the school with the seminarians and family photo.

Lunch in the company of formators and seminarians from more than 20 countries.

14:00 h. Gathering with the rector and testimonies of seminarians.

17:00 h. Free walk in Trastevere.

20:00 h. Farewell dinner meeting at a charming restaurant Archimede or Tre Scalini. 

08:00 h. Breakfast and check out.

08:30 h. Transfer by bus with luggage.

Holy Mass at the Altomonte Priestly College, visit to the facilities and get-together.

Transfer by bus to St. Peter's Square to attend the Angelus prayer with Pope Francis.

13:00 h. Concentration at the meeting point for the bus transfer to the airport.

14:00 h. Check-in and boarding, bound for Madrid.

Iberia return flight, departure at 4:15 pm and arrival at 6:55 pm.
