"My name is Airan Osmar Cortes Silva. I am a priest of the Diocese of Tabasco in Mexico, and I am currently beginning the third year of my Licentiate in Canon Law.
I arrived in Spain in January 2018 to begin formation at the Bidasoa International Seminary. At the seminary I did all my philosophical and theological formation, completing the Baccalaureate in theology. At the end of my Baccalaureate studies, that same year, I returned to my diocese to put myself at the disposal of my bishop, who assigned me for a couple of months to collaborate in a parish as a seminarian while waiting to be ordained deacon.
I was ordained deacon on June 30, 2022 in the parish that welcomed me as a seminarian upon my return to Mexico, and then presbyter on September 3, 2022 in my home parish. My transition from the diaconate to the priesthood was short, because my bishop would send me to continue my licentiate studies at the University of Navarra, where I am currently studying my last year.
At the end of my licentiate I will return to my diocese to place myself at the disposal of my bishop and thus be able to carry out all that I have acquired so far in my university studies, both theological and canonical.
I have had the opportunity to travel to my Diocese on a couple of occasions and I have seen many benefits that have allowed me to develop my apostolate in a better way. I thank briefly in this message for all the help given to the needy dioceses in the world".
