How to pray for the deceased?
Intercessory prayer for the souls of the departed is a very ancient tradition. The Catholic Church has been doing it since the beginning of Christianity, as a sign of love for them. In this way we help them through prayer, almsgiving, the indulgences... And offering suffrages in their favor, especially the sacrifice of the Mass so that, purified by the goodness of God, they may come to see him face to face in Heaven.
Pray: a work of mercy
Through this work of mercy -By praying for the deceased, we facilitate their participation in the fullness of God's love, and it becomes a way of living the Communion of Saints. Our prayer can not only help them, but also makes their intercession effective for all of us.
