My name is Van Binh Nguyen and I was born on November 24, 1992. I am a seminarian in the archdiocese of Ha Noi, Vietnam. I am the third child in a family of four children, two boys and two girls.
Being a priest is my childhood desire, which grew thanks to my family, especially my grandfather and my aunt who is a nun. By the grace of God, my family has always been very Catholic, and my vocation comes from there. Thanks to the support and prayers of the family and the parish community, two fruits were born, my sister, a nun who made her perpetual vows two years ago and my vocation to the priestly life to serve God and his people.
When I was 18 years old, under the guidance and help of my parish priest, I decided to enroll in a diocesan vocational group. During the civil university that lasted 4 years I lived in a house that belonged to the parish along with 100 companions, participating in the different activities that the parish carried out. When I was 23 years old, I entered the candidate house of the major seminary where I lived for two years receiving the necessary formation that allowed me to make the decision to enter the major seminary. After the exams at the end of the second year, I was called by the archbishop to study in Rome. I did two years of philosophy and three years of theology.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity, not only for the prayers you have said but also for the gift I am receiving.
