Tomasz Zych is a priest of the diocese of Sandomierz in Poland. He was born in Sandomierz, although his family home is located in a small village nearby, in Kamieniec. He is the youngest of three siblings from a humble family: his parents are farmers. As a child, always after school and together with his siblings, he helped his parents with farming.
This experience allowed him to discover the beauty of family community and sacrifice, working together. Very often at home they prayed together, the whole family. Then of graduating in 2011, he had plans to become a police officer or study technology, but he felt a deep desire in his heart to serve God in the priesthood.
"I am Tomasz Zych, a priest of the Diocese of Sandomierz (Poland), born on June 18, 1992 in Sandomierz. I come from a family of farmers, my parents work in agriculture, and I have two older brothers, Piotr and Pawel, who have already formed their family.
In 2011 I entered the seminary in Sandomierz. After 6 years of study, I was ordained a priest in June 2017. I served 2 years in the parish, then by the decision of my bishop, Krzysztof Nitkiewicz, I received an honorable mention to go to Pamplona to study.
This support gives me the possibility to pursue my studies in Moral and Spiritual Theology at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Navarra in Pamplona, in order to better serve my diocese of Sandomierz in the future. In 2021 I finished my degree and I am currently in the first year of a doctoral program at the same University, where I am doing research entitled: The challenge of individualism and the proposal of communion. Analogy between the perspectives of Karol Wojtyla, St. John Paul II, and Pope Francis.
With this letter I would like to thank the Centro Academico Romano Foundation CARF for the financial support (which includes both accommodation, medical insurance, etc.) during the academic year 2021/2022.
Thank you for all your help, I promise to pray for every work of the CARF Foundation".
