"My name is Serapion Modest Shukuru from a Catholic family. I am the last among eight siblings at home. I did my secondary education in two seminaries. The first one where I did ordinary high school is called Katoke Seminary. I was there for 5 years. Then I went to Nyegezi Seminary where I did advanced secondary school in physics, chemistry and biology. I finished in 2018.
It is in this seminary where with God's help I was able to discover my vocation to the priesthood. It was not easy but with the help of friends and formators I finally had the heart to say yes to God.
I entered the diocese of Bunda and my then bishop received me. After finishing the propaedeutic year, he sent me to Spain to continue my formation at the International Seminary of Bidasoa.
It has been three years since I arrived, and I thank God for the splendid formation I am receiving. I cannot forget that my stay in Bidasoa has been made possible by many people who wash the feet of many of us. Especially the benefactors.
May God bless you very much. For my part I commend and thank God for all these people of good will. It is really admirable the help of someone who does not know me. If not, rather, because we are part of one Catholic Church. So the formation I receive is for a particular Church in Bunda but since Bunda is part of the one Catholic Church, then you can say that my formation is not only for my Church in Tanzania, but it is for our Catholic Church. May God bless you very much. Thank you.
