"Benjamin Lewis Ng'ambi, newly ordained priest, ordained priest on 29 July 2023. The ordination was in my diocese of Karonga in Malawi. I thank God for this grace he has given me. I am happy and grateful to Him.
I am the last son of 08 children. My vocation to the priesthood was inspired by an old priest who was a relative of mine. He was the only priest in my parish which was very large and came once a month in the chapel of my village to celebrate the Table. His coming once a month was always a great joy for all the villagers but especially for us children because he was so nice to us. He was so nice that even I had the desire to become like him as a priest so that I could also be able to give such joy to other children in any place that would serve. My vocation began this way and so I am a priest. That priest who was my parish priest since I was a child is still alive and he was also present at my first table and he made me happy. I also thank the Prelature of Opus Dei for the formation given to me when I was in the seminary Sedes Sapientiae from 2016. From there I did my studies of philosophy and theology. I am also in the priestly college Altomonte doing a degree in canon law always at the University of the Holy Cross. I also thank my loving benefactors who, thanks to their generous heart, have allowed me to study in Rome. Their kindness will help so many souls through my ministry in the diocese of Karonga and any place where I will be invited to serve.".
