He was born and raised in a very Catholic family "and to that I owe the success of the path that led to my priesthood." "I remember going with my father to morning and Sunday Masses at a very early age."
When he was very young he told his parents that he was going to be a priest when he grew up and to play "he taught and preached to our cattle and cushions and celebrated masses". Seeing his gifts, their parents saved money of their scarce resources "and me sent to the seminary at the age of ten. With that decision, the long journey to my priesthood began.
"The second stage of my seminary formation was the 'spiritual year.' One of the most significant years in my process of formation, of intensive prayer and with a difficult decision to make about whether to continue on the path to the priesthood."
The senior seminar was also shocking for him and acknowledges that those years opened his mind, as he was exposed to studies in philosophy and theology. "It was a time to balance the high spirituality he had acquired over the years with a solid academic background."
After his ordination to the priesthood he was sent to a parish as a parochial vicar and high school teacher. "I developed the hobby of writing when I was a seminarian, and I have also published a couple of books. I didn't stop reading, as a priest and my love for teaching also grew". I worked with the youth and the whole parish and the experience was enriching.
Two years later, the bishop decided to send him to Rome to continue his studies and to be able to serve in the major seminary when he finishes them. I am grateful for his support and assistance, and even more grateful to him for choosing me as the beneficiary of this scholarship fund."
"My stay in Rome has been a blessing for me, and I am grateful for all these privileges. I will always pray for you.
