I have lived the first years of ministry in an environment of special spiritual, community and pastoral enrichment.

Name: Jorge Armando Castro Maestre.
Age: 36 years old.
Situation: Priest.
Origin: Santa Marta, Colombia.
Study: Canon Law at the University of Navarra, Pamplona.

"I am a priest of the diocese of Santa Marta, located on the northern coast of Colombia, and it includes an urban part and also a vast rural area that makes it a territory of diverse pastoral activity in that it experiences its action in parishes and centers of evangelization located both in the countryside and in the city.
From a very young age I was actively involved in parish life, and at the age of 16 I began studying Industrial Engineering. Having already finished university, at the age of 24, the Lord raised in my heart a series of questions oriented towards a priestly vocation. Having accepted this call, I resigned from my job and began my priestly formation in the Propaedeutic year at St. Joseph Major Seminary in my diocese.
During the 2014-2015 academic year, I was sent to the Bidasoa International Seminary to receive there my formation prior to the priestly ministry. After completing my studies, and after receiving priestly ordination in August 2019, my bishop considered it convenient and opportune to study for a Licentiate in Canon Law, taking into account the scarcity of people prepared in this field. Thus, my first years of ministerial work were enriched by a priestly life immersed in a different reality of my diocese, while I completed my Bachelor's degree studies, at the end of which I obtained the extraordinary prize at the end of my degree. Subsequently, I began my doctoral studies (also at the University of Navarra), of which I am currently in the third year, which includes the completion of research and the defense of my doctoral thesis.".
