I have lived the first years of ministry in an environment of special spiritual, community and pastoral enrichment.

Name: Jorge Armando Castro Maestre.
Age: 34 years old.
Situation: Presbyter.
Origin: Santa Marta, Colombia.
Study: degree in Canon Law from the University of Navarra, Pamplona.

"I am Jorge Armando Castro Maestre, a Colombian priest born on December 6, 1988 in the city of Santa Marta and belonging to the clergy of the diocese of the same name, which includes a very varied area of pastoral work, composed of populations located both in urban and rural areas.

At the age of 24, after finishing my university studies, God himself raised in my heart a series of questions oriented towards a priestly vocation. Thus, after much prayer and meditation, I decided to respond to this call of the Lord.

After five years of formation at the Bidasoa International Seminary, I have completed my Bachelor's Degree in Theology at the University of Navarra. Subsequently, my bishop considered it appropriate for me to pursue a Licentiate in Canon Law, which I am about to conclude, thanking the Lord for the opportunity he has given me to obtain knowledge that will surely be the intellectual support necessary to carry out the pastoral mission that He himself will designate in my priestly ministry.

During my licentiate studies I also had the opportunity to live with priests from different backgrounds at the Colegio Mayor Echalar II. This has allowed me to live the first years of ministry in an environment of special spiritual, community and pastoral enrichment; thus combining intellectual formation with the invaluable contribution of other brother priests and, in addition, with the opportunity to have pastoral work spaces in some parishes of Pamplona and in the chaplaincy of the University of Navarra.

Bearing in mind all of the above, and since thanks to your generosity it has been possible to carry out my formation and it will be possible to continue forming many priests of different nationalities, I express to you through these letters my sincere gratitude for all your support, as well as my union in your intentions, especially during the celebration of the Eucharist".
