The humble faith and the generous and active participation of the people give me great hope that the Church is alive.

Name: Jason Macuja and Carullo
Age: 37 years old
Situation: Priest
Origin: Virac, Philippines
Study: Degree in Canon Law from the University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain.

I wish to continue my formation in order to serve with joy in my diocese.

Jason Macuja y Carullo is 37 years old and is a priest of the Diocese of Virac in the Philippines. He was born in the same city, Virac, in a simple large family.

"At the age of 17 I entered the propaedeutic seminary at Immaculate Conception Pre-College Seminary.

From those 9 years of formation, apostolates and immersions in various parishes and mission stations, I experienced living with small and poor communities that gave me learnings and at the same time joy to serve and to follow the call to priesthood. The humble faith and the generous and active participation of the people gave me much hope that the Church is alive and will survive.

On May 31, 2012 I received priestly ordination and that experience gave me the enthusiasm and drive to continue serving our Diocese with great joy."

"I thank you, the benefactors, for the opportunity to be able to continue my formation through undergraduate study at the Faculty of Canon Law of the University of Navarra, bearing in mind the desire of the Bishop of my diocese to constitute the Diocesan Ecclesiastical Tribunal.

May the Lord continue to bless you so that you may continue to help the priests of various dioceses in different countries in the field of ecclesiastical studies.

You will always have my gratitude and prayers for everyone."

Supports a vocation anywhere in the world

full scholarship of 18,000 euros is the amount necessary for a candidate to live and study for one year at their university locations, whether in Rome or Pamplona. The neediest dioceses in the world require a full scholarship for their candidates. In many cases, the diocese covers part of this cost and a lesser amount is required, which is always indicated with the candidate's application.

What does a full scholarship consist of?

More than 800 bishops from all five continents request study grants for their candidates through scholarships. Thanks to benefactors like you, CARF meets most of the requests, but the needs are growing and we want all requests to be met.
