"I am Francis Mathias Mwanantumba, a seminarian of the Archdiocese of Mwanza (Tanzania). I was born on February 22, 1989 (Tanzania), I am the fourth among 12 children of Hellena Manyala and Mathias Malimi, 2 of whom are deceased (Nap in peace).
After the civil study, (Elementary, Middle and High School), I entered the Seminary of St. Anthony of Padua in 2015, where I did my priestly formation and study of philosophy until June 2018. From September 2018 until February 2020 I studied Theology at St. Paul the Apostle Seminary, Kipalapala Tabora. From July 2020 until now I am in Rome (Sedes Sapientiae e Santa Cruz), doing my priestly formation and studying Theology. I am glad to be here and thank you very much for all you do for us, I always pray for you.
My diocese is called Mwanza, it is located in Tanzania. The Archdiocese of Mwanza, which has been in existence since 1953, spans the entire Mwanza region with a catchment area of 19,062 square meters. While it has a total of 450,775 baptized faithful, it is facing many challenges in the spiritual, social and economic sectors of its engagement. The Archdiocese of Mwanza is under the leadership of Archbishop Renatus Nkwande since 2019. Services to the community are provided in the spiritual, social and economic spheres through 45 parishes, 26 churches in the process of being created parishes, 7 deaneries and 2 chaplaincies. In addition to lay employees, there are more than 70 diocesan priests and 44 missionary priests serving in the Archdiocese. The lay apostolate, prayer groups and other evangelical movements also participate in spiritual endeavors, thus enriching the spiritual journey in the Archdiocese. We have 83 seminarians (major seminary).
Our Vision as an Archdiocesan Church: "The Church as a caring and accountable family of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit". Our Mission: "To build a family of God where every member feels at home spiritually and physically through the development of each other's capacity and the provision of appropriate services in accordance with the policies, resolutions and stipulations of the first Synod of the Archdiocese of Mwanza".
I hope that after my studies here in Rome, I will return to my country to serve the people of God who are thirsty to hear the good news. Thank you very much and I ask God to sustain and bless you every day of your life. Amen.
