Deogratias Method Nyamwihula is 30 years old and from Mwanza, Tanzania.
Deogratias feels very fortunate to have been chosen by his bishop to study in Rome. There he receives a complete formation and a very rich experience, which would be unattainable in his country.
"Every day I am surrounded by priests who are examples and courage of priestly life. The Pontifical University of the Holy Cross is a family full of many experiences and good life in union with Christ Jesus, I believe that this experience will be remembered throughout my life as a greater gift that God has given me."
In July 2020 he was ordained a priest in Tanzania and his bishop has sent him back to Rome to continue his formation so that upon his return to Tanzania he can better serve the needs of his community.
"I lack the words to say how these years have really helped me to grow spiritually, academically and pastorally. I dreamed of studying in a good institution that would offer me the right study, now I no longer have a dream, but I am living it in reality.
I am very grateful to my benefactors because all this happens to me because they help me to realize my dream, but above all the dream and the need of my diocese and my country. Many bishops want to send seminarians and priests here to study and have the best formation that we cannot have at home. Thank God I am an unworthy part of this and I ask the Lord to help me to take advantage of this opportunity according to his will.
In short, they are not only helping me as an individual, but also all the people of God who will receive my service throughout my life. I always remember them in my prayer and at Holy Mass." c
