"I am David Ariel Echeverría Vela, originally from Guatemala and incardinated in the diocese of Escuintla, in the southwest of the country. There are seven of us in my family: five siblings, one deceased and me, the youngest.
I have been studying theology in Pamplona since 2021. In this short time I have realized that being here is a blessing and I am very happy. I would like to tell you that what I have liked the most, besides the liturgical celebrations and prayer life in Bidasoa, is living with many brothers from other countries. Knowing their cultures and sharing with them their customs is a great privilege. We are from 17 countries and we all bring different roots, but that is what makes the Church a beauty, because of its diversity of charisms. It is these charisms that are leading the Church of Christ to continue to grow more and more each day.
Another small experience that I would like to share is that we recently visited the Shrine of Our Lady of Torreciudad. It was a very beautiful experience, since the sanctuary, besides being a center of prayer, is very imposing and propitiates that one can feel very moved to pray and to be in a great connection with heaven. It is to feel welcomed by our heavenly Mother, who waits for us with open arms, welcoming us and saying: "Son, thank you for coming to visit me".
Thank you for the support you give me, without it this opportunity would be impossible to live. I ask the good Lord to bless you always and multiply all the good things you are doing for us. May Mary, our mother, always intercede for you and your loved ones. Count on my prayers every day".
