My parents taught me to love God

Ángel Josué Loredo García is a priest of the Diocese of Monterrey in Mexico.

"I was born into a Catholic family and my parents from a young age taught me the love of God.

I belonged to a group called ACAN (Catholic Action for Adolescents and Children) and was an altar server since I was 7 years old in my home parish, belonging to several groups in my adolescence.

At the age of 16 I joined a diocesan movement of meetings for adolescents (DEA) and it was here that God's call came to me through the vicar of my parish. At that time I was studying engineering, cycling and soccer.

I entered the Seminary at the age of 17 (year 2007), in my diocese the ordinary is to do 10 years of formation, I was ordained a priest on August 15, 2017 along with 6 fellow brothers now priests.

During my time in the Seminary I served for several years in the Vocational Ministry, the same place where I began my priestly ministry accompanying young men in their vocational discernment.

One of the most beautiful experiences I had in the Seminary was the possibility of serving in prisons and rehabilitation centers for young people with addiction problems, as well as visiting the sick in hospitals and nursing homes.

Grateful to God for the many gifts he gives me, I continue to entrust myself to the prayers of the Christian people, trying to give my life as a servant of God in his people, offering the Eucharist for the spiritual and material benefactors who make our formation studies possible".

"Thanks to your prayers, I am moving forward in my quest to be another Christ. In the same way, just as you help spiritually, you also help materially, because this would not be possible without people with generous hearts who think of the future of the Church. For this reason I thank you unconditionally for your charism of service, collaboration and availability.

May God bless the work you do in the Church, that it may be fruitful, and may he bless your personal work. For this is the cause from which will arise more acts of generosity in the world, more priests in the Church and more people dedicated by your example. I commend you to our Mother the Virgin Mary, daughter of God the Father, Mother of God the Son and Spouse of God the Holy Spirit".
