Jhoel Arley Díaz Rodríguez (first in the photo from the left) is a seminarian from the diocese of Cúcuta in Colombia.

"I was born in the municipality of Lourdes, Norte de Santander in Colombia, parish of Our Lady of Lourdes.

I am the second son of the love of Heliberto Diaz and Omaira Rodriguez. Since I was a child, my family brought me closer to the parish, helping me to be an active part of the pastoral-parish mission.

I began my priestly formation in the diocese of Cúcuta, Colombia, located on the border with Venezuela. It currently has 1,300,000 Catholic faithful and a territory of 2,200 square kilometers, where I completed seven years of formation, a philosophical cycle, two years of theology and one year of pastoral work.

At the end of this year, my bishop sent me to Rome to finish my theology studies, where, thanks to God, I was able to complete them. Then the bishop asked me to continue studying in Rome in the branch of Canon Law at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, where I am currently in the first year of my licentiate.

I thank with a sincere heart full of gratitude the Centro Academico Romano Foundation (CARF) and with it all its benefactors who make it possible today that my formation and my experience in Rome of catholicity and university continue to forge in me, knowledge and values to better serve in the future the People of God.

I commend you always in my prayers and offer supplications to God for each of your intentions. Thank you, God bless you.
