My name is Pedro Paulo Pereira Funari. I was born in Brazil in 1989. Thanks to the good Lord, I was born into a beautiful Christian family, myself and three brothers. The desire to become a priest manifested itself at an early age. However, it was not yet clear to me that it was the Lord's will. Before college, I studied in a Jesuit school, which gave me many important experiences, especially the missions in northern Brazil (in the Amazon, among other places). At the same time that my vocation matured, I began my university studies in the field of economics. This was followed by my bachelor's degree, which was a period of special spiritual growth. Since I got a scholarship to do my PhD in the United States, I went to California. But after the first year the Lord's will was very clear: I left everything to enter the seminary.
With the decision to enter, the possibility of coming to study in Rome appeared, thanks to you. My bishop, Cardinal Odilo P. Scherer, agreed, and so I arrived in the Eternal City. I am now in my last year of Theology. The University of the Holy Cross is a great intellectual center, which gives us a deep formation that will surely be of great use in our priestly ministry.
The formation we receive at Sedes Sapientiae International College is also of a high level, and I say this in all senses: moral, intellectual and above all spiritual. It is a complete formation, so that, God willing, we can become holy priests. All this is thanks to your generosity and kindness, because otherwise it would not be possible.
