"My name is Hung Nguyen Van, I am from Vietnam, I was born into a Catholic family, from the happy marriage of Paul Minh and Maria Nguyet who are my parents. I have two brothers, one is older and one is younger. Thank God that I grew up in a Catholic family that allowed me to receive a Christian education and to participate in catechetical activities in the parish of St. Mary of the Rosary, where I received the sacraments of Christian initiation. Before entering the seminary, I studied business administration at the Civil University of Hanoi.
Because of God's call to the priesthood, I decided to enter the major seminary of the diocese of Hanoi when I was in the second year of my studies, from that time I started discernment classes in the bishopric on Sundays.
In 2015 I finished my degree, and the rector of the seminary called me to live with the others in a college so that I could be formed in community life. After two years of studying some language and Catechism subjects, I took exams and entered St. Joseph's Seminary in my diocese in 2017.
With the help of the CARF Foundation I had the opportunity to study at the Faculty of Theology at the University of Navarra. I finished my bachelor's degree in Theology in 2022, but due to the needs of the diocese I am continuing with my degree in Canon Law at the same University of Navarra. I am currently living at the Bidasoa International Seminary to finish the last year of my degree.".
