The construction of the parish church will result in the creation of a hospital whose services will improve the health of parishioners and the community in general.
There is now one clinic and two dispensaries in the area with no doctor and limited facilities for simple ailments and first aid that serve the population of 31,836. Most of the time people have to travel more than twenty-nine kilometers to go to the county capital Homa Bay to receive medical attention.
It will also have a water well. The lack of drinking water is the greatest need in the area, since there is no river in the area and no piped water supply. by the county government. The families depend on rainwater and two wells.
This well will supply drinking water to 1,055 people. Families living in the vicinity of the church and, in times of drought, to another 1,272 people of families living more than one kilometer away from the parish.
Increasing the supply of safe drinking water will meet the basic need for water, reduce waterborne diseases, end the long periods of time families spend fetching drinking water over long distances, and improve living standards.
As well as the level of education. To this end, Achego high school and Achego elementary school will be upgraded, sponsored by the church.and have the largest number of children in the area.
These schools need better learning and sports facilities and books to ensure proper education for children. A second primary school known as God Ndiru Primary School will also be built in a village known as God Ndiru. It is in a very poor state and lacks teachers and classrooms.
The construction of the church will entail the creation of vital infrastructure normally provided by the County Government for these sites. This includes a proper road and electricity. This will open up the area to business and employment for young people.
Electricity will enable people to create and expand small businesses offering services and goods, thus generating wealth and employment and alleviating high unemployment among young people. To this entrepreneurship training will be added to enable entrepreneurs to manage their small businesses more professionally and profitably.
