Situation: Seminarian.
Origin: Calbayog, Philippines.

"Hello! I am Laurence Andrew Magallanes. I was born on November 14, 1998 in Catbalogan town, Samar province, Philippines. I belong to the diocese of Calbayog. My bishop's name is Isabelo C. Abarquez. I have entered propaedeutic seminary in 2015 and finished my philosophical studies in 2020. Now, I am in formation at Bidasoa International Seminary.

I am in my fifth year of my bachelor's degree in theology at the University of Navarra. I don't know exactly when, where, how my vocation began, but I was born into a religious family. I am the last of four children (two older sisters and an older brother). My parents are part of a charismatic group and my father is the choir director of their group, in fact, my parents met through there. My parents taught us the Catholic faith, the basic piety (rosary, angelus, novenas, etc.) and most importantly to always attend Mass every Sunday and on choir singing days. After that, I was an altar boy for six years, where I met friends who wanted to be a priest. When I was helping at the altar I was always curious about the life of a priest, until I decided to become one too. Just my first year of being an altar boy, my older brother entered the seminary. So one of my inspirations to enter the seminary was my brother and my classmates, but unfortunately it is only me who is following this path. But in spite of that, I am joyful and happy in this path I chose.

This is the story of how my seminary life began, but it is not a finished story, I am still writing, with my life, this great love story, it is called vocation. I do not know when, where and how my vocation began, but I know how it is possible that until now I am following this path, it is all grace of the Lord with his great love and mercy that even with my weaknesses, he continues to love me and forgive me. That is why I, too, continue to love the Lord because He loves me first.".
