{"id":217530,"date":"2025-08-22T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.fundacioncarf.org\/?p=217530"},"modified":"2025-07-11T11:21:59","modified_gmt":"2025-07-11T09:21:59","slug":"santa-maria-reina-del-mundo-y-del-cielo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/en\/santa-maria-reina-del-mundo-y-del-cielo\/","title":{"rendered":"Saint Mary Queen: the Virgin Mary, empress of heaven and earth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every year, the Church celebrates with emotion the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/opusdei.org\/es\/article\/santa-maria-reina-rezar-con-san-josemaria\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/opusdei.org\/es\/article\/santa-maria-reina-rezar-con-san-josemaria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">feast of St. Mary Queen<\/a><\/strong>It is a date that invites us to contemplate with deep devotion the role of the Blessed Virgin Mary as Queen of heaven and earth. St. Josemar\u00eda teaches us his devotion and love for our mother. Her reign is not based on human power, but on the immense love she has for us all; on a surrender to God's will with humility and service, in perfect harmony with her yes from the first moment of the Incarnation of the Son of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"St. Josemar\u00eda speaks of the Virgin Mary\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HdE564KaMw0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/pius-xii\/es\/encyclicals\/documents\/hf_p-xii_enc_11101954_ad-caeli-reginam.html\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/pius-xii\/es\/encyclicals\/documents\/hf_p-xii_enc_11101954_ad-caeli-reginam.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pope Pius XII instituted this feast in 1954.<\/a>It was later, with the liturgical reform of the Second Vatican Council, it was placed within the octave of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, on August 22. Thus, the coronation of Mary as Queen and Mistress of all creation is celebrated just after her glorious entrance into heaven in body and soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Holy Mary Queen because she is Mother<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The royalty of the Virgin Mary is intimately linked to her role as <strong>Mother of God<\/strong>. St. Josemar\u00eda Escriv\u00e1, a great devotee of our Mother, often meditated on this truth, teaching that Mary was the first woman of the world. <strong>exalted by God above every creature<\/strong>We have as our Mother the Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and of the World\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On another occasion St. Josemar\u00eda wrote in a homily: \"If our faith is weak, let us turn to Mary. St. John tells us that through the miracle of the wedding feast at Cana, which Christ performed at the request of his Mother, his disciples believed in him. Our Mother always intercedes before her Son so that he will attend to us and show himself to us in such a way that we can confess: You are the Son of God, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.escrivaobras.org\/book\/amigos_de_dios-punto-285.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Friends of God 285<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the first moment of her conception, Mary was filled with grace. She was preserved from original sin and lived her entire existence perfectly united to the will of God. In the fullness of her self-giving, she accepted to be the Mother of the Savior, and at the foot of the Cross, she also became the Mother of God. <strong>Mother of all men<\/strong> and Coredemptrix with her Son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, her reign is not symbolic: it is a reflection of her essential role in the plan of salvation, willed by God as intercessor, protector and guide of the Christian people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/virge-maria-advocacion-mariana-22-de-agosto.webp\" alt=\"Santa Mar\u00eda Reina san Josemar\u00eda amor a la Virgen Mar\u00eda\" class=\"wp-image-217537\" style=\"width:762px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/virge-maria-advocacion-mariana-22-de-agosto.webp 800w, https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/virge-maria-advocacion-mariana-22-de-agosto-300x200.webp 300w, https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/virge-maria-advocacion-mariana-22-de-agosto-150x100.webp 150w, https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/virge-maria-advocacion-mariana-22-de-agosto-768x512.webp 768w, https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/virge-maria-advocacion-mariana-22-de-agosto-18x12.webp 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Virgin Mary source of peace in the midst of storms<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike human reigns marked by power or ambition, Mary's reign is filled with <strong>maternal tenderness and compassion<\/strong>. As St. Josemar\u00eda points out, she is <strong>Queen of Peace<\/strong>and to turn to her is to find consolation: \"Holy Mary is the Queen of Peace. Therefore, when your soul is troubled... do not cease to acclaim her.... <em>Regina pacis, ora pro nobis!<\/em>\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Lady is not distant: she is close, understanding and available. Many Christians experience how, when they turn to her in the midst of difficulties-illness, family worries, vocational doubts-her presence serenades the heart and opens paths of hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Queen and Mother of the Apostles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to consoling, Mary encourages. It is <strong>Regina Apostolorum<\/strong>Queen of Apostles. St. Josemar\u00eda insisted that the Blessed Virgin Mary encourages us to live a life of self-giving and mission:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\"<em><strong>Be bold. You can count on the help of Mary, Regina apostolorum. And Our Lady, without ceasing to behave as a Mother, knows how to place her children before their precise responsibilities. (...) Many conversions, many decisions of dedication to the service of God have been preceded by an encounter with Mary. Our Lady has fostered the desire to search, she has maternally activated the anxieties of the soul, she has made us aspire to a change, to a new life. And so the \"do what he will tell you\" became a reality of loving dedication, a Christian vocation that has since then illuminated our whole personal life.<\/strong><\/em>\". St. Josemar\u00eda, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.escrivaobras.org\/book\/es_cristo_que_pasa-punto-149.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">It is Christ who passes by, 149<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This apostolic dimension of Mary's reign connects profoundly with the mission of the <strong>CARF Foundation<\/strong>which promotes the <a href=\"https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/formacion-de-seminaristas-que-estudian\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"197148\">training<\/a> of seminarians and diocesan priests and religious men and women at the service of the universal Church. Mary, who knew how to welcome and guide the vocation of the first apostles, continues today to accompany those who give their lives to the priesthood or consecrated life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to celebrate the feast of Saint Mary Queen?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We propose you to live this day with some simple but profound gestures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/el-rosario-oracion-arma-poderosa\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/el-rosario-oracion-arma-poderosa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pray the Rosary<\/a><\/strong>The fifth Glorious Mystery, the coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven, was especially contemplated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dedicate some time to the <strong>eucharistic adoration<\/strong>thanking her Son for giving us such a merciful Mother and Queen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make a <strong>work of charity<\/strong> in his honor: accompany someone in need, visit a sick person, or support a cause that builds the Church, such as the formation of priests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"370\" src=\"https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/santa-maria-reina.webp\" alt=\"santa mar\u00eda reina san josemar\u00eda virgen mar\u00eda\" class=\"wp-image-217556\" style=\"width:728px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/santa-maria-reina.webp 600w, https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/santa-maria-reina-300x185.webp 300w, https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/santa-maria-reina-150x93.webp 150w, https:\/\/fundacioncarf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/santa-maria-reina-18x12.webp 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The Coronation of the Virgin Mary. By this title, she was conceived immaculate and is full of grace, she is always a virgin, she ascended body and soul to heaven, she has been crowned Queen of all creation, above the angels and the saints. More than her, only God. The Blessed Virgin, because she is the Mother of God, possesses a dignity that is in a certain sense infinite, of the infinite good that is God. There is no danger of exaggerating.
