\u00abMy name is Deogracious Ewange. I am 30 years old and a seminarian from Uganda, belonging to the clergy of the Diocese of Soroti. I come from a happy, deeply religious, and devout family consisting of my parents, Mr. Roberto\u2014who faithfully serves as a catechist\u2014and Mrs. Mar\u00eda, a selfless homemaker who also works on the farm. In our large family of six siblings, I am the only son among five sisters: Susan, Ann, Luc\u00eda, Elisabeth\u2014who is studying law at the University of Gulu\u2014and Philomena, who has consecrated her life to God as a nun.\u201d.<\/p>\n
My vocational calling was awakened at the age of nine thanks to my godfather Gabriel, who introduced me to the practice of daily Holy Mass, and to the example set by our diocesan chancellor, Father Gonzaga. During those morning celebrations, I was deeply captivated by the liturgy and by the songs of the Little Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, who led the parish choir. Through those daily encounters with the Lord at the altar, a firm desire to enter the seminary matured within me\u2014a fundamental choice about which I feel utterly joyful.<\/p>\n
I am currently pursuing my advanced theological studies in Spain and receiving my priestly formation at the Bidasoa International Ecclesiastical College, in collaboration with the faculties of the University of Navarra.
