A project to leave its mark

Today we enter into a conversation of Jesus with his own on the Mount of Olives. They had been in the temple. On leaving the Temple, one of his disciples said to him: -Master, see what stones and what buildings. Jesus answered him: -You see these great buildings? There shall not be left here one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down (Mk 13:1-2). For them it is the end of the world: great stones, and the most emblematic building of their city.

They remain restless and when they return to Betania, they rest and chat from the other hill. 3 And as Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the Temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him alone: 4 -Tell us when these things will happen and what will be the sign that all this is about to come to an end. 5 Then Jesus began to say to them, "Take heed that no one deceives you. 6 Many will come in my name, saying, "I am he"; and many will be seduced. 7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be anxious; for it must happen, but it is not yet the end.... (Mk 13:3-7)

Humility

In the end, what seems very powerful will sink. 24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, 25 and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then he will send the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. 28 Learn from the fig tree this parable: when its branches are already tender and its leaves sprout, you know that summer is near.  29 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is imminent, that it is at the gates.  30 Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away without all these things being fulfilled. 31 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (Mk 13:24-31).

It is not necessary to let oneself go by appearances and human power (money, influence, public opinion, public opinion, ...).

Be prepared

When will it happen? No one knows of that day and that hour: neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father. (Mk 13:32). It is not worth doing calculations, it is better to be always prepared: Be watchful, be vigilant: for ye know not when the moment (Mk 13:33).

Also our life has a limited time. As a young man one thinks less about these things, but it is good not to forget them, at any moment the  Lord may call usWhat would I find in my life?

Discovering God's loving plan for each one of us is one of the most exciting tasks in life.

Make it worthwhile

One of the big questions: What am I in the world for? survive or moreMay your life not be a sterile life. Be useful. Leave a trace. Illuminate, with the luminary of your faith and your love, / Erase, with your life as an apostle, the viscous and dirty sign left by the impure sowers of hatred. And light all the roads of the earth with the fire of Christ that you carry in your heart. (Camino, 1).

Now, in dialogue with the Lord, is a good time to reorganize our lives so that we do something worthwhile. To do this, first of all, we should stop to put our ideas in order and set goals. If we do not have a clear goal, we are like a warehouse with pieces of film, many of them with exciting, hard, happy, joyful, sad moments, but all incoherent.

Discovering God's loving plan for each one of us, knowing how to contemplate the small things, discovering his providence in what happens to us, seeing things objectively, is one of the most exciting tasks in life.

For this, reading, meditating and living the Gospel will help us a lot: If only your composure and conversation were such that everyone could say when they saw you or heard you speak: this one reads the life of Jesus Christ. (Camino, 2).

That the Blessed Virgin help us to live, as she did, close to Jesus and learning from him.
